You don’t always need to fill your Center Parcs trip with costly activities! Here are some of our favourite, free (or very cheap) things to do during a Center Parcs break this summer.
1. Build sandcastles on the beach
Make sure you pack your bucket and spade, because this can keep little ones entertained for hours!
It might not be your traditional seaside resort, but the beaches next to the Center Parcs lakes can be just as fun and relaxing, especially on a warm summer’s day. Even if you don’t have kids, there are plenty of loungers to relax on and it’s the perfect spot to watch the world go by.
2. Feed the wildlife
When you visit Center Parcs there’s one thing for certain – you’ll be seeing plenty of wildlife! From the squirrels and deer near your lodge, to the ducks and swans at the lake, you never know quite what you might spot next!
Although it’s (obviously) completely free to go wildlife spotting, it’s also fun to feed them, whether that’s at your lodge or out and about. You can buy bird food and wildlife feed from the Parc Market shop, or you can bring your own, for a low-cost, fun activity for all the family.
3. Go exploring
If you’re looking for free things to do at Center Parcs, you can always just go and explore! The Center Parcs sites are deceptively large, and if you go for a walk or a bike ride, you can easily spend hours just looking around.
Keep an eye out for wood carvings, or themed trails, dotted around the site… or just go for a wander around and see what you can see!
4. Kids’ play areas
As a family-friendly resort, Center Parcs offers plenty of outdoor play areas to keep the kids entertained.
They’re perfect for letting off a bit of steam, and it’s a great, no-cost activity you can return to again and again throughout your stay, especially in the summer.
5. Watch the activities
Although the activities themselves can get quite expensive to take part in, you can see most of them from the public areas – for free!
With so many activities going on around the Center Parcs site at summer, there’s always something to see! Look out for some of the big, outdoor adventures, like the ropes course, big jumps, or the zip wire over the lake – it can be just as entertaining to watch other people conquer their nerves and fly through the forest, as it is to do it yourself.
Another great tip: if you’ve got one of these activities booked later on in your Center Parcs holiday, why not go along beforehand and take a look, to see what you’ve let yourself in for!
6. Go swimming
Of course, it wouldn’t be a trip to Center Parcs without visiting the swimming pool! The “Subtropical Paradise” is one of the main reasons we all love to visit – especially because it’s included in the price of your stay (so technically free!).
From slides to rapids, and a huge kid’s section too, there’s something for everyone and you can easily spend hours in there – and all at no extra cost to your holiday!
