1. P for Pizza

This fun, fast-paced game is great for almost-all ages, and it’s quick and easy to pick up and start playing. It says 8+, but as long as your child has an understanding of initial letters (e.g. P is for Pizza), they can join in and have fun. It’s quick and simple enough to keep the younger ones interested, while still being challenging and fun for the grown-ups. We love playing it, even without the kids!

2-4 players, age 8+. Playing time approx. 15 mins.

2. Uno

A well-loved classic for all the family, it’s simple, fun and easy to start playing – there’s a reason it’s still so popular! You can even make up your own games to keep smaller kids entertained (“can you find the red number 4?!”). You can pick it up pretty cheaply (if you don’t already have it!), and its compact size makes it super-easy to pack, too.

2-10 players, age 7+.

3. Sushi Go

This is a long-standing favourite in our house, and everyone we’ve introduced it to has loved it too. It might seem complicated at first glance, but it’s actually really quick to get the hang of – and once you start playing, it can get quite addictive! A great one for older kids and adults (younger children might enjoy being on ‘teams’ until they get the hang of it).

2-5 players, age 8+. Playing time approx. 15 mins.

4. Rummikub (travel version)

Again another classic – and again, it’s a classic for a reason! Quick and easy to pick up, and has tons of replayability. Choose the travel version for a compact, easy-to-pack game that’s just as fun as the original. Just watch out for lost tiles under the sofa or behind the cushions!

2-4 players, age 8+. Playing time approx 60mins. Official Rummikub tutorial

5. Top Trumps

This is a great choice for children, fun and simple to play, and there are loads (if not hundreds?!) of themes to choose from, so there’s always one your family will love. We’ve got a Paw Patrol pack and a cake-themed one too! They’re compact and a great little activity to have on-hand when needed.

2-6 players, age 4+. Playing time approx. 30-60 mins.
